天狼星是夜空中最明亮的恆星之一
也是最接近地球的恆星之一。
其視星等為-1.46等
比第二亮的恆星金星還要亮。
天狼星是一顆主序星，其質量約為太陽的2倍
半徑約為太陽的1.
它的表面溫度非常高，達到約3萬5千
因此呈現出藍白色的光芒。
天狼星在不同的文化和信仰中
都有著不同的象徵和意義。
在古埃及文化中，天狼星被稱為索普底特
在希臘神話中，
守護著天國的大門。
天狼星的亮度在天文學上
被用作測量距離的基準
稱為「

被歸類為A型星。
最後值得一提的是
天狼星也有一個著名的衛星
名為天狼星B或者狗星B
是一顆白矮星，由於它非常接近天狼星且比天狼星暗淡許多，
因此很難被肉眼觀察到。
